If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you.
Challenges are good they help us grow and develop personally, people ask for their lives to change or complain about how miserable they are with their current circumstances then face challenges and change with the same energy.
What I have learnt is that through every challenge I have faced; good (or the ones that hurt) I have always grown personally and that it changed me, which enabled me to deal with things that little bit better in the long run. Difficult challenges are obviously hard to deal with and it's very easy to shout and scream about a situation or let it get to you. Certain challenges can lead you to a "bad place" emotionally if you let them, but this place will inevitably hurt you; plus negative, low emotions can lead to depression and/or actions that are unusual to your normal characteristics, which can then lead to guilt or other similar emotions. Think about this, how is being unhappy or low going to make the situation any better? If you are in a better state of mind you can make better choices and deal with the challenges more effectively. Can being in a good place work all the time? Maybe not, I mean what about when someone you love is hurt or worst still passes away, that's a huge challenge for anyone! I know that when I lost someone that was very close to me I took it really bad and let myself get very down about the situation, I'm not saying not to mourn for a loved one, but being upset for months and months is not going to change the situation is it? It's just going to make you feel worse. Being sad about something is perfectly normal, but allowing it to take over your life is where you need to draw the line. How often do circumstances make you feel a negative emotion and does it take over you? All emotions are perfectly normal, it's when you feel one particular emotion a lot of the time that you need to start recognising it and do something about it! Don't let your emotions get in the way of challenges and change, perhaps each moment is leading you to a brighter path. We all have our ups and downs, it's about learning how to go with the flow and enjoy what life brings. Embrace each challenge and enjoy the changes, they are your story and your memories, so enjoy! ​Peace and love to you and yours.
